This 2-day JUNOS Intermediate Routing (JIR) course prepares students for the JNCIS-ENT and JNCIS-SP Certifications that will be released by Juniper Networks in Q32010.
The two-dayJUNOS Intermediate Routing course provides students with intermediate routing knowledge and configuration examples that applies to all Juniper networks JUNOS products. The course includes an overview of protocol independent routing features, load balancing and filter-based forwarding, OSPF, BGP, IP tunneling, and high-availability (HA) features.
This course is based on Junos operating system Release 10.0R1.8. Through demonstrations and hands-on labs, students will gain experience in configuring and monitoring the Junos OS and monitoring device operations. Specific topics include:
- Configure and monitor static, aggregate, and generated routes
- Configure and share routes between routing instances
- Describe load-balancing concepts and operations
- Implement and monitor Layer 3 load balancing
- Configure and monitor filter-based forwarding
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot OSPF
- Describe BGP and its basic operations
- Configure and monitor BGP
- Describe IP tunneling concepts and applications
- Configure and monitor GRE and IP-IP tunnels
- Identify various high-availability features supported in JUNOS
- Configure and monitor high-availability features
- Describe some differences between IPv4 and IPv6
- List IPv6 address types and describe the IPv6 addressing format
- Configure and monitor routing for IPv6 environments
- Tunnel IPv6 traffic over an IPv4 network
- Explain the operations of IS-IS
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot IS-IS
